Exactly what Kinuvo knows, and what it never will.

Kinuvo is built for guidance, not surveillance. That’s a promise we can only make with specifics, so here they are.

Only what a feature needs.

What Kinuvo collects, why, and how long it is kept

The Wi‑Fi network name is only readable when your child’s phone allows precise location. Kinuvo never reads Wi‑Fi hardware addresses, saved networks or nearby networks.

Some things are never ours to see.

  • Messages, chats or emails
  • Calls or contacts
  • What your child types
  • Screenshots or recordings of the screen
  • The websites they visit (only blocked attempts are recorded)
  • Page contents, full web addresses or searches
  • Photos, files, camera or microphone content
  • A live, continuous location stream
  • Advertising identifiers

No advertising or analytics software. The Kinuvo apps contain no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting software. The camera is used only to scan the pairing code, and that happens on the phone.

Your child is told, in plain words.

Before any sensitive permission is switched on, Kinuvo Kids explains what it’s for. These are the words your child sees.

“Kinuvo does not use Accessibility to read your messages, capture what you type, or record your screen. It only uses the on-screen information needed to apply your family’s rules and protect Kinuvo’s own settings.”
Accessibility
“Kinuvo does not keep your full browsing history. When a site is blocked, it records the blocked site, reason, and time, which are shared with your approved family.”
Network Protection
“Kinuvo Kids collects location data so your approved family can see your recent or last known location and location history, and receive arrival or leave updates for places your family sets up, even when the app is closed or not in use. Your location is only shared with your approved family.”
Location
“This keeps Kinuvo safely set up on this device, so the things your family turned on keep working. A parent can always turn it off with their PIN.”
Keep Kinuvo On

Kinuvo Kids is a visible app, and its Dashboard always shows that location is shared. What your child sees

What you see as a parent.

You see

Time used today, app usage for up to 30 days, installed apps, blocked-site attempts, the latest location and 30 days of history, arrive and leave alerts, requests, SOS, and your child’s phone status.

You don’t see

Messages, typing, the screen, browsing history, or a live moving dot.

Your child sees

Their own rules and the answers to their own requests. Never your app, your reports or other children.

Deleted on a schedule.

  • Alerts leave your feed after 24 hours.
  • App usage, location history and blocked-site records are deleted after 30 days.
  • When you remove a child, their alerts, SOS history and app approvals are deleted right away, and their usage and location history within 30 days.

Protected in ways we can be specific about.

  • Everything travels over encrypted connections.
  • Passwords and PINs are stored only as one-way hashes, never in readable form.
  • Sensitive details, like your child’s contact information and the codes that deliver notifications, are additionally encrypted.
  • Sign-in sessions renew automatically, and reusing an old sign-in key signs out every related session.
  • Your child’s phone keeps its sign-in key in Android’s secure storage and out of backups.
  • On Android, the Kinuvo app’s data is kept out of phone backups.
  • Notifications never contain coordinates, street addresses or usage figures. A place alert names the saved place, for example “Arrived at School”.
  • A 6-digit Parent PIN protects sensitive actions, with a pause after repeated wrong attempts.

What Kinuvo can’t do.

Honest limits are part of trust.

  • Web Protection uses curated lists of known sites; it can’t block everything, or single videos and searches.
  • Location is the latest reported position, not live.
  • SOS reaches you, not emergency services.
  • A full factory reset removes Kinuvo Kids, as with any app.
  • Phone makers’ power saving can delay background activity.
