Location and safety

Know they got there, and help when they need you.

Arrive and leave alerts for the places that matter, 30 days of location history, and a one-tap SOS that reaches every phone you’re signed in on.

Saved Places

Example day
  1. Home

    Left 8:05 AM

  2. Northside School

    Arrived 8:24 AM

You’re notified: “Arrived at Northside School”

  3. Swim practice

    Arrived 4:10 PM

You’re notified: “Arrived at Swim practice”

Stops are matched to your places in the location history, kept for 30 days. It’s the latest reported location, not a live, moving dot.

An alert when they arrive, or leave.

Save places like Home, School or practice with a name, a spot on the map, a radius and an icon. Then choose an arrive alert, a leave alert or both. You’ll get a notification such as “Arrived at School”, and it appears in your Alerts too.

Each child can have up to 100 active place alerts. A master switch pauses them all without deleting places.

Where they were last seen, and when.

Your Home screen shows your child’s latest location and how recent it is. A location from the last 15 minutes counts as recent; older ones show their age, like “2 hours ago”.

Their day, on a map.

The Location report shows stops and journeys for today, yesterday, or the last 7 or 30 days, as a map and a numbered timeline. Stops are matched to your saved places, and Open Directions takes you there in your maps app.

Detailed when they’re moving, quiet when they’re still.

Kinuvo Kids checks location occasionally while the phone is still and records a fuller route while your child is travelling. Location recorded without a connection is kept on the phone for up to 7 days and sent when it reconnects.

Your child knows.

Before Android asks for location permission, Kinuvo Kids explains it: “Your location is only shared with your approved family.” Its Dashboard always shows that location is shared.

What your child sees
Emergency SOS

One tap to reach you.

  1. Your child taps SOS. A three-second countdown starts, with Tap to Cancel. There’s no press-and-hold to get wrong.
  2. Every phone you’re signed in on gets an urgent alert. It sounds once, rather than looping, and opens the SOS screen with your child’s location when it’s available.
  3. You tap “I’m on my way”. Your child sees “Help is on the way”, and every other parent phone is updated.
  4. No signal? The SOS is saved and keeps trying to send. Each SOS is delivered once, even if the phone retries.

Kinuvo’s SOS reaches you, not emergency services. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Good to know

Honest limits are part of trust.

  • Kinuvo isn’t a live tracker; you see the latest reported location, not a moving dot.
  • Location needs “Allow all the time” on Android 10 and newer, with location services on.
  • Accuracy and timing depend on GPS, signal, battery settings and the phone’s maker.
  • Saving a place while your child is already there doesn’t send an “arrived” alert.
  • There’s no switch to turn location sharing off for one child; it’s part of the service and shown to your child.
  • SOS needs your child’s phone to reach the internet (it keeps retrying) and your phone to receive notifications.

Questions

All questions

Is location tracking live?

No. You see your child’s latest reported location with how recent it is, and where they’ve been over the last 30 days. Kinuvo records more detail while your child is travelling, but it isn’t a second-by-second tracker.

Can I get notified when my child reaches school?

Yes. Save School as a place and turn on an arrive alert, a leave alert or both.

Does my child know their location is shared?

Yes. Kinuvo Kids explains location sharing during setup, before Android asks for permission, and its Dashboard always shows that location is shared.

How does Emergency SOS work?

Your child taps SOS and a three-second countdown starts, which they can cancel. Then every phone you’re signed in on gets an urgent alert, with their location when it’s available. Tap I’m on my way and your child sees that help is coming. If their phone has no connection, the SOS keeps trying to send.

Does SOS call emergency services?

No. Kinuvo’s SOS reaches you, not emergency services. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
