Screen time

Screen time limits that feel fair to everyone.

Kinuvo gives your child a daily allowance on their Android phone, with room for the days that are different, a voice when they need more, and a bedtime that happens on its own.

Daily Limit

Example week
2 hours on school days, 3 at the weekend. On Friday, you added 30 minutes of Bonus Time, for that day only.

Set a limit for each day of the week.

Use the same limit every day, split weekdays and the weekend, or choose a different limit for each day: from zero minutes to a full day, in 5-minute steps. When the day’s time is up, apps pause with a calm screen until tomorrow.

You see today’s time used against today’s limit on your Home screen. Turn the Daily Limit off and your settings are kept for when you turn it back on.

Calls always work.

The home screen, phone calls, Settings and the keyboard stay usable when time runs out, and they never count against the limit. Neither does Kinuvo Kids itself.

Special day? Add Bonus Time.

Tap Add Time on your Home screen and choose 15 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour or your own amount. Bonus Time is for today only and never carries over. Your child sees “Includes +30m bonus”, so they know where the extra time came from.

They ask. You decide how much.

When 15 minutes or less are left, your child can tap Ask for more time. They don’t choose an amount; you do. The request arrives as a notification and in your Alerts, and you approve with the time you choose, or say not now.

One request can be open at a time. After a no, your child can ask again in 10 minutes. Asking never unlocks anything on its own; only the time you approve does.

School apps don’t have to count.

Choose apps that don’t use up the Daily Limit, like a reading app, a school app or maps. Always Allowed apps still follow any App Limit, schedule or block, and changes apply from that moment on.

No surprises.

Your child gets a reminder at 15, 5 and 1 minute left, as long as notifications are allowed on their phone. The Kinuvo Kids Dashboard always shows how much time is left today.

Screen Time Schedule

Bedtime, on autopilot.

Every child starts with a Night Screen Lock from 9 PM to 7 AM, ready to switch on with one tap. Add your own schedules for homework hours or family dinner, on the days you choose.

  • Overnight schedules work as you’d expect
  • Times follow your child’s time zone, so bedtime is still bedtime when you travel
  • Schedules start and end on time even when the phone is offline
  • Kinuvo lets you know when a new schedule overlaps another

9:00 PMto7:00 AM

Designed to resist clock changes.

Changing the phone’s date, time or time zone is designed not to reset the Daily Limit or add time. “Today” is your child’s day, on your child’s phone.

Keeps working without Wi‑Fi.

The limit is kept on your child’s phone and keeps working offline and after a restart. If you add Bonus Time while their phone is offline, it shows as Waiting for device and arrives when the phone reconnects.

Daily Limit and App Usage are different numbers.

The App Usage report shows everything your child used. The Daily Limit counts only time while the limit is on, and leaves out Always Allowed apps and the phone’s essentials. It’s normal for the two to differ.

Good to know

Honest limits are part of trust.

  • Kinuvo Kids is for Android phones only.
  • Reminders need notifications allowed on your child’s phone.
  • Bonus Time is for today only.
  • There’s no alert on your phone when time runs out; the ring on your Home screen shows it.
  • Request More Time is for the Daily Limit, not for individual App Limits.
  • A schedule pauses apps; it doesn’t switch the phone off or silence calls.

Questions

All questions

What happens when the Daily Limit runs out?

Apps pause with a calm screen until tomorrow. Phone calls, Settings and the home screen keep working, and your child can tap Ask for more time. You decide.

Can I set different limits at the weekend?

Yes. Use the same limit every day, a weekdays and weekend split, or a different limit for each day of the week.

What if I say no to a request?

Your child sees that it wasn’t approved and can ask again after 10 minutes. Only one request can be open at a time.

Can some apps not count toward the limit?

Yes. Add them to Always Allowed, for example a reading or school app. They stop using Daily Limit time from that moment, but they still follow any App Limit, schedule, block or Phone Lock.

Does changing the phone’s clock reset the limit?

Kinuvo is designed so that changing the phone’s date, time or time zone doesn’t reset the Daily Limit or add time.

Can I set a bedtime?

Yes. Every child starts with a ready-made Night Screen Lock from 9 PM to 7 AM that you switch on with one tap, and you can create your own schedules for homework or dinner.

A fair day, with room for special ones.
